1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN
The Rochester Library is proud to announce the nationally known 1,000 books program. This program is based upon solid evidence from research findings that the more children ages 0-5 hear books read to them, the more prepared they will be to learn to read upon reaching kindergarten. The goal is simple: read 1,000 books to your child (yes repeats of their favorites count) before they enter school. Incentives will mark each 100 books read with a special surprise upon finishing the program. The concept is simple; the rewards are priceless. Our program will launch February 1, 2014. Please contact the library or www.rochester.lib.wi.us for further information.
